| The Pan Probe Biotech, Inc., LiveSureTM Barbiturates Screen Test is an in vitro diagnostic (IVD), qualitative, lateral flow, immunochromatographic urinary assay for the rapid detection of barbiturate drugs (e.g., secobarbital, pentobarbital, phenobarbital, etc.), their analogs and metabolites (collectively termed: BAR) in human urine at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) cut-off level of 300 ng/ml. Barbiturates (secobarbital, pentobarbital, phenobarbital, etc.), analogs and their metabolites are central nervous system depressants. Barbituates are usually taken orally, rectally, or by intravenous or intramuscular injection. High dose abuse of barbituates may impair mental and motor coordination, causing confusion, injury and mental disorders, and may lead to respiratory collapse, coma and even death. The LiveSureTM Barbiturates Screen Test is a competitive immunoassay in which chemically modified and bound barbiturate conjugate competes with urinary barbiturates and their metabolites for limited, specific barbiturate antibody binding sites. Each test device contains a sample reaction unit, a pink-colored, antibody-colloidal gold conjugate unit pre-labeled with specific antibody, and a chromatographic membrane pre-coated with drug conjugate in the device test region. |
